When is the Patios Festival in Córdoba 2025?
The festival will take place from May 5 to May 18, 2025. Can’t make it during those dates? Don’t worry — many patios remain open afterward.
What are the Córdoba Patios?
Los Patios de Córdoba are private courtyards in residential homes, opened to the public during the festival. Locals decorate them with hundreds of flowers, hanging pots, fountains, mosaics, and family treasures. Expect a feast for the senses: vivid colors, rich aromas, and a warm, intimate atmosphere.
Festival History
While the festival itself is relatively new, the tradition dates back to Roman times. Later, the Moors adapted this style into what we now recognize as the Andalusian patio. In 2012, the festival was recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, cementing its cultural importance.
Patio Competition
During the festival, homeowners compete for the title of the most beautiful patio. Patios fall into two categories — traditional and modern, depending on the architecture and design of the buildings.
Where to Find the Patios
There are six official routes during the festival. The most famous is:
-
Alcázar Viejo (San Basilio) — the most accessible and picturesque area.
